Instant Logging

I had seen someone mention somewhere an app that would give me instant logging of what is going on, but can't seem to find it.

No Someome had said a tool to use when coding that gives you a instant log you can look at while running your app to see what it is doing.

I really do think this is what you're after.

Aloha,

There's a Trace feature in Studio that displays the value of each widget as it's evaluated. But this produces tons of extraneous info, takes some practice to read, and is really overkill for the vast majority of debugging problems. I can count on one hand the number of times I've used it effectively. DebugLog() and consolewin are your best bets for getting a real-time record of what's going on in the code you're actively developing.

What do you mean about infinite loop time?

Could you explain this registry change and how I view it

My app is locking up occasionally and I am trying to figure the cause

It was a joke since I linked back up a few posts.

Install babgvant's registry settings tool. There is a checkbox there to activate the console.

Aloha,
Mike

Just looked up DebugLog() in the api docs... that will make debugging MUCH easier... I am assuming with it that it will send whatever string is passed to it to the log and onscreen if the console is active. thanks for the tip
