SageTV Client will not accept my Name/Key pair
So I have had SageTV since 2004 and bought an upgrade key in 2007 when v6 came out. I use to run SageTV client and server on the same box until I bought an HD200 and now use the HD200 as my main client and have SageTV running just as a server using windows service.
That all works great. So I decided that since the SageTV license I thought provided me with the ability to run a server and 1 client and that the client could be on or off the machine running the server. I would install SageTVClient on a different computer to connect to my SageTV server. It works EXCEPT for some reason SageTVClient will not accept my Name/Key pair that I got for v6. I sent a support ticket but have not heard back yet, and figured I was probably missing something simple that someone else here has solved. |

Do you actually have 2 licenses: 1 for SageTV (the server) and 1 for SageTV Client, or do you have 1 server license? (You can run the service and client UI on the server using just a single server license, so there wasn't a need for a client license to run the UI on the server.) If you do have 2 separate server & client licenses, are you trying to use the original or upgrade server license for your client?

One license is for one PC. The single server license allows the UI to run on the server. A client on another PC requires another license.
BTW: since you said you contacted support, I suggest contacting them again to let them know it is resolved. - Andy
