Lost in TV land....
Ok system is running XP Pro 64, SP2,4GB RAM, PVR-150 as turner card, Nvidia 6600GT video, and Creative X-Fi Platinum sound. The system was installed today, all service packs, drivers etc.. are up to date. Downloaded and installed SageTV 6.5.9 today and installed. System shows video, but no sound. Re-run the setup wizard, and now no video.
This system works fine under Mythbuntu 8.10, so I'm sure my hardware is okay. I',m not sure if it's a 64bit OS issue, or maybe just a bad install. I have uninstalled and reinstalled the app with no change, still no video or sound. I have changed the settings (video render/overlay etc..), I have moved the PVR-150 to a different PCI slot to remove and IRQ issues. Any clues? |

Do the same files play back OK in WMP? What codecs are you using for playback? What does work, recordings, live-TV, web content, music?
XP Pro 64 was never really ready for prime time, I'd honestly look more at running regular XP Pro.

Using XP64 so that all 4GB of ram is available. 32bit OSes don't always see the full amount of ram. I have not tried any other videos in the Sage player. It's only use would be for live TV. All recordings I have on the system (avi/mpg/mp3) play fine in their respective players.

Grom what I've read, the Hauppage software does not work in a 64bit environment. Their webpage directs users to either Sage or BeyondTV.
The Sage player will play the MP3's and most of the videos (some give a audio error, but most play). I'm sure that's due to whatever audio codec was used. However live TV will not work. This morning, after testing the other videos I now have no video or audio. I have set the Renderer & Filter for both Video and Audio to all possible combinations, but nothing. I cannot afford to go to Vista, 32 or 64, so that is out of the question. And as I said before, this card works fine under MythTV, so I don't think it's the issue either. |

You need to reduce your ram to under 4GB in your Windows system. Sad but true. 2GB or 3GB will work with your PVR150.

In that case, it's back to MythTV. Thanks for the help.
