How To Select HD Versions of Shows to Record
I recently upgraded to Hauppauge's HD-PVR, outside of having to manually go into my favorites and explicitly select all our some of the HD channels to record from is there any way you can tag a channel as "HD" and then tell your favorite to only record from the tagged "HD" channels?
I don't want to have to go and select each individual chanel within each favorite to ensure I don't get any SD recordings of a program if I can avoid it.

Favorites automatically attempt to record HD airings instead of SD airings, when possible. But, to do this, the airing has to be marked as HD in the EPG data. Make sure the HD channels are enabled on the HD-PVR's lineup and disable any SD versions of the same channels on the lineup. Not all airings on an HD channel are actually HD, btw.
Manual Recordings record whatever airing you specify and IR records whatever airing fits into the schedule w/o regard for HD vs. SD. - Andy
