Analog tuning issues PAL / SECAM In Switzerland

Hi All,

I have been struggling with getting my analog tv setup working on Sage for a while now - and have finally made some progress, which takes me to the current set of problems.

Initial situation:
Freshly installed Sagetv 6.5.9.204 on WHS
Hauppauge Wintv PVR PCI II (2200) via analog cable tv
Viewing on HD200
Region set to Switzerland (44)
Sage MC installed (but not enabled)
PAL fix enabled

In this setup, I was seeing a similar issue to what is described here

Basically, when performing a scan for all channels, I see the channels perfectly in the mini preview tuning window.. but when I try to watch TV, I get white noise.
I tried all video_format_code settings from 16 -> 1024

After some searching, It seems that maybe Switzerland has different tv formats depending on region (I am in the French part - which could be using Secam even though my TV tunes fine when set to pal).

After months of failed attempts

I finally tried setting my country region code to 33 (France) - which is Secam
All of a sudden, I can see most (not all) of my channels after performing a scan.

I am trying to import the XML files from Microsoft then using StefanMs tool

This seems to work really well, I get a complete EPG of my local cable company lineup.. but the frequencies do not match any of the channels.

Using the MS EPG info worked fine when I used it with Vista Media center.

To summarise :
My SageTV is set to French, I can perform an auto scan.. and see almost all channels, or I can import XML from MS (set to my local cable company in Switzerland) and see all EPG info.. but I can't get both to work at the same time.

There seems to be a problem with Sage, it does not recognise that I need secam in Switzerland (err.. possibly), and this is blocking me from making progress.

Next steps (one day)..
I have a Cinergy S2 PCI Satelite tuner card, which I want to pick up UK Sky TV with.. I managed to get this working perfectly standalone (no analog) - how is this going to work now that I have my SageTV set to Secam? Sky is PAL.

Can anyone give any advice? is this a Sage bug similar to the guy In Italy linked at the start of my post?
