HD PVR version 1.0.5.301 whql
The Lates ver is online
see here http://www.shspvr.com/smf/index.php?topic=12020.0 or http://www.hauppauge.com/site/suppor...ort_hdpvr.html This what new The new HD PVR driver has a major fix for the wipeout of the internal flash, which could have occurred if the power was turned off while the HD PVR was operating. In this new driver, the flash is protected against this happening. In the past, if someone turned off the power while HD PVR was recording, sometimes the flash would be corrupt and the customer would need to send their HD PVR back to Hauppauge to be reflashed. Anyone tried the new driver?
The changelog doesn't look promising as far as any stability improvements

I'm using it, but I didn't have any stability problems before upgrading to it either.

Capture errors continue
I upgraded yesterday and still get the "capture errors" at least 2 times a day. I do use the optical connection. I've noticed no differences at all as far as stability.

I installed it. I see no issues with it, but I am still using the analog inputs for audio.

Well, no sooner did this driver come out and the day before I was scheduled to update, I got the flash corruption of death! Now my HD PVR will not initiate. Is there any way for me to flash this stupid thing myself? I sure would hate to have to mail, wait, recieve. All the while, I amnot able to record my shows. This sucks.

re: antivirus
I use AVG antivirus which I installed a few weeks ago. The problem was there before I installed it. I've disabled resident protection on it and still see the problem w/ capture errors. I've put it on it's own usb port to see if that helps with no luck. Next thing for me will be using the serial to usb cable to change channels instead of the blaster included with the HD-PVR. The issue seems to come up after a channel change.

Maybe its the revision of unit I have but I tried these over the weekend and they still give me audio problems with AC3 passthru where it will all of a sudden become garbage as if it's lost sync with the stream. I've switched back to using the 1.0b drivers as they had always been the most stable for me.

Didn't work. Got a Capture Error last night when changing the channel. I got my serial to usb cable from Patterson tech today and am going to try the serial channel changing this weekend. Hopefully that will solve it.

Make sure you cover the IR receiver on the HD-PVR.

Do you cover the HD-PVR IR even though you're using the Patterson serial cable for channel changing??????

That's precisely why you ARE covering it. You aren't using the IR receiver for channel changes any longer and it tends to still receive and attempt to interpret other remote's commands. A number of people have found that recordings will spontaneously stop, ironically right as they push a button on the remote. It's not constant, so it usually takes a while before you realize that's what's happening.

Now on to the patterson cable. I cannot get it to connect at all to my h21-100 directv reciever. If it's not one thing it's another... |

Are you in a client/server setup? I could not get the Patterson to be recognized on the server by their little software program no matter what I did. However, it did work with the receiver after I upgraded the receiver's software. Regardless, this definitely isn't related to the driver, so I'd suggest starting a new thread.
