950Q analog

Anyone have luck with the Hauppauge 950Q analog tuning running on Ubuntu 8.1 ?

The digital QAM works just fine, but no option for an analog tuner.
Running the Windows version , it recognizes both the analog and digital
950Q devices.

TIA

Looks like you'll want to get new sources for the drivers: http://osdir.com/ml/linux-media/2009-02/msg00785.html

Thanks bcjenkins

Gave that a try over the weekend. It gave me an option for the analog tuner but not much more after that. As a matter of fact, the digital tuner
stopped working too. Frustrating.

I don't have the tuner, so bear with me. When I pull new sources on a distro which hasn't had them before; I do the following:

1) Install Mercurial
2) Clone the tree
3) Make config (optional)
4) Make the drivers
5) Remove the media directory under /lib for the kernel I am working with (you can move it somewhere else for safe keeping)
6) Install

The reason to move the media directory out is that the drivers in the old directory may conflict with the new stuff especially if names of mosules have changed.

Also, make sure there isn't a firmware file you're missing.

If you want to troubleshoot further pipe dmesg from a clean boot to a file and post.

Thanks,

B
