Recent HD-PVR clips...
could someone post any recently captured HD-PVR clips. One minute or so.
I'd like to see how they handle on my HD-200 before plowing money into a re-tooling of my current setup. I tried some clips a while ago - still have them but they have stuttering, and I'm not sure if it's because they are old - and the HD-PVR drivers / firmware have changed since then. If I could get a recent clip, and fix the stutter, I'd feel better about going server / client in a big way ($$). If you need space to upload I can provide a syncplicity link. |

Slack, I'm not at home so can't post any clips, but I can tell you that HD-PVR recordings play back great (perfectly smooth) on my HD200.
Surfing Live TV with the HD-PVR/Sage combo is still a total disaster, but the recording and playback works well... occasional 1 sec skips in the video (maybe one or two a show) but I think that's my cable or the HD-PVR; don't think its the HD200. |

I record at 1080i (that's what my stb is setup output is. I need to change that but can't do it now for fear of badness). No hesitation, nice and smooth. The only thing as chriscic might be saying, when watching live tv, I get a sec pause when. Seems either sagetv is tuning to the same station or creating a new file because of the hour or half hour mark (new show).

OK, so confidence is a plus. However...
I just upgraded to latest beta for the HD-200. Because the release info says.. Quote:
Hdpvr.ts - commercials, and few minutes of NCAA bowl game (Florida) on CBS - plays fine. otahdpvr.ts - few minutes of a NFL game (Bears) recorded on FOX. - not so good. Every 3-4 seconds there is a jerk / stutter. The server was recording one show at the time, now my server isn't exactly a brute - but it does reliably record two OTA HD streams while playing back (locally, rendering that is) a third from disk. Just occurred to me I could put clips on usb drive and remove server from the picture - that would at least let me know were problem lies. brb Edit Same deal - fox clip stutters, cbs clip smooth. At least I know it ain't the server. Still if anyone can produce some recent clips it might be nice put them together with pertinent information. Source, source format etc...and make them available (I can do that is need be (via syncplicity) so folks can test, and get a warm & fuzzy feeling before spending cash on the HDPVR. Perhaps SageTV host them even, as a selling tool. Last edited by Slack; 02-25-2009 at 05:48 PM. |
