Can't install HD-PVR

I have 3 HD-PVR's connected and working on my Sage server. I am building a new server to replace the current one. When I plug any of the HD-PVR's into the new server it appears in Device Manager as an unknown device but when I try to install the driver the computer says it cannot find any compatible HW.

Both systems are XP SP3 w/ all latest updates. Old MB is a Gigabyte GA-965G and new MB is an Intel DG45ID.

Any ideas?

You probably have tried this, but I find with Intel boards, it is best to install the drivers from the CD that came with the board even if the drivers that loaded during the Windows install seem OK.

After installing from the CD (especially the chipset inf file) go to intel.com and get the latest bios and drivers.

Other USB 2.0 devices are recognized in your USB ports, Right?

This is why I love/hate the HD-PVRs.

EDIT: Also, did you check in device manager to see if you have any warnings? (without the HD-PVRs attached).

I solved it.

The two HD-PVR's are E1's and I was mistakenly trying to install the original drivers. When I pointed Windows to the 1.053 drivers it installed correctly.

Thanks though,

Scott
