Major problem with 30sec. Skip & Fast Forward

Since the last two beta firmwares i've had major problems with the SKIP BK, SKIP FW, REW & FF functions.

For example. When I hit SKIP FW, instead of skipping ahead 30 seconds it goes into what looks like a 16x or 32x fast forward. When it stops, the audio and video are completely out of sync with no way to get them back in sync. I have to restart the video again to make things work properly.

Also not that is only happens with ripped video. Live TV and Recorded TV are fine. I have two extenders and it's happening on both.

Anyone have any ideas?

If you have "VideoReDo", have you tried using "Quickfix" on the ripped video files? If you don't own "VideoReDo", it is a good program to used for editing videos.

Sure. It sounds like you're using SageMC and not the default STV. You need to relearn the buttons.

I think your right Gerry. How do I go about relearning the buttons, and is it just the buttons i'm having trouble with I need to relearn?

I guess this problem was not due to the firmware but most likely my upgrade to the new version of SageTV that was just released.

This isnt an STV issue. Its definitely a new bug.

Im seeing the exact same problem - although it seems most apparent in xvid/mpeg4 files more than anywhere else.

If you revert back to the dec firmware everything will work fine again...

Im just saying.. (btw thats what I did to "solve" the problem)

I'm going to try that as well because I tried using the default STV and it's the same issue.

I'm also going to try the stand alone mode as well to see if it has issues.

I just came to post about this, same problem with latest beta firmware. Goes crazy in ff and rw, then the audio is way behind the video and the video quality is way down. I have to go back to the current non beta version... can't live like this.

I just checked stand alone mode and it has the same issue. Hopefully a new firmware will fix this issue.

Ok I have no idea why but my problem has disappeared.

I did nothing to the HD200, I have not downgraded to the current release. I did upgrade my server to WHS but that should have nothing to to with this issue.

After I thought this was solved it turns out it's still doing this with Xvid files. I don't usually use avi or xvid... which are similar I think. All other formats work fine.
