SageTV records random shows for brief periods?

Hi all, I'm a refugee from Media Center, and now a new SageTV user currently trying out the software and planning to buy it once I'm sure it does what I want. I have to say, this program gives you so much more control over your media than Microsoft ever did.

Currently the only issue I'm having with Sage that I haven't figured out, is some random MPG files popping up in my recordings directory. Things I don't remember even watching, much less consciously pressing the Record button for... And the even stranger part is they're often not full shows... 500KB, 25MB, 1.3MB - small files for a TV show. Partial recordings, possibly? Anyway, I'm just wondering what it is I need to do to prevent this from happening. I did disable Intelligent Record but it doesn't seem to fix this issue.

Have you been watching live TV through SageTV & flipped through channels? If so, they are probably snippets from changing the channel. If this is the case, check out the "Watching Live TV" section (p. 21) of the Quick Start Guide portion of chapter 2 in the PDF manual that was installed with SageTV. You may also want to see the "Automatic Cleanup of Live TV" section of Appendix C, around p. 247.

"Automatic Cleanup of Live TV" was disabled... I'm going to assume that the shows are recorded from channel surfing since they're very small in file size, and that enabling this setting will fix it.
