help! sagetv only records channel 4!

Suddenly all I get are recordings of channel 4.

The recording schedule shows the right channels, and the "Detailed Info" on all of my recordings reflect the information on the show it was supposed to record, but when I play them all, they are all recordings of channel 4 from the time it was supposed to record another show.

Any ideas?

Are you using an external cable box? If so perhaps the channel isn't getting changed for some reason. I had this same problem with my directv receiver, turned out to be a bad serial connection.

nope, no cable box. the coax goes from the wall to a splitter. One side of the splitter goes to the cable modem and the other side goes to the Hauppauge card.

If I reboot my computer then Sage switches the channels like it should for a while, but at some point it gets stuck on channel 4... and I don't even watch channel 4!

Just a few guesses:
  • Make sure the 150's drivers are up to date.
  • Try using the Hauppauge software for a while to see if the card begins to fail when changing channels. (Depending on what you meant when you said it stops working after a 'while'.)
  • Make sure SageTV is up to date.
  • Go to Setup -> Source Setup -> select your source. Then, on the Source Details screen, make sure that it still lists the input type as TV Tuner & has no RF Channel listed.
  • If no one comes along with any better suggestions, check with Frey tech support.

This is weird. I had two scheduled recordings back to back on the same channel (channel 66) - one program from 8 to 9, and one from 9 to 10. It recorded the correct show from 8-9 and then at 9 changed to channel 4, even though the display indicated channel 66 and showed the program info for the show that was on channel 66.

I think I might just reinstall SageTV tomorrow. Is there a quick way to backup my favorites (not the actual recordings, just the list of shows that I want to record)?
