Capture Single Frame

The good fairy that normally looks over my search requests must be on vacation today because I can't seem to find this using the forum search.

When playing back a video, there is an option "capture single frame". I'm trying to use it to create some background for some old videos I have. It indicates that I have captured a frame. My question is - where is the frame stored? I must be dense, because I can't seem to find it.

TIA

I'm still too dense to find it. I looked for every .jpg under the SageTV folder - found lots of thumbnails, but no screen capture. I made another screen capture this morning. Searched for every file changed in the last 24hrs - still no screen cap (although interesting to see what changes over time for a day).

You may have to treat me like a 5-year old on Theraflu. Still can't find it.

Make sure you're using VMR9 for the video renderer and NOT overlay. It's called capture.jpg and it will be in your SageTV directory. h.264 capture does not work so well. mpg2 is fine.

Ahh-hah moment. When watching a TV broadcast, I can capture a single frame and it shows up. It seems that when playing back a video (DVD in VOB format) that it doesn't work.

Funny thing is that I get a window that pops up and confirms the screen is captured.

@gplasky - using VMR9 and Nvidia codec.

It appears that I am able to make this function work in the normal TV viewing mode. I have not been able to get a capture for a video (DVD .vob format) playing.

Could someone confirm that the single frame capture is intended to work in video (DVD .vob format) playback? Much appreciated.
