HD-PVR irblaster control a Dish 622?

I have a new HD-PVR (one of the E units, we'll see how it goes) and I am trying to figure out how to get it to change channels, etc on my VIP-622. The irblaster config that comes with the unit only lists "Dishnetwork" and some older model receivers and even after trying all codes I cannot get it to work. I have the emitter plugged in securely and taped to the front of the 622's IR receiver (middle of the 3, I believe) - I see lights flash on it, but no control.

Do any of you have this unit changing channels on a 622 using Sage, and what codeset/procedure did you use if you do? Trying to get this working before my 21 day trial is up and I have to buy or not.

Thanks!

Well if the exact STB model isn't listed, then you might have to do some trial and error to see if another Dish model will work. I have a VIP211k STB and actually use the 311 STB in the software.

What specific codeset do you use with the 311, if you don't mind me asking? Below the selection for it in the irblaster config you should have a drop down box that shows different codes.

I did try the "try all codes" option but it didn't power the unit off with any of them. I know others here use the 622 with this so it's got to be me.

I know it was the code that automatically filled in when I selected the 311 as the STB. I'm not in front of it right now, but I believe it was 0156.

I'll try that - the default I get now is 0130 with that STB selected.

I don't know why they don't bother to update their list of receivers and codesets, the one they are using has to be at least 5 years old. The Dishplayer is in there, as is the JVC/Dish tape hybrid abomination and both of those were obsolete in 2003.

Where were you given the option to select it? I've had an HD PVR set up for a long time, and it's working fine, but I have to admit that I don't remember how I set it up and got it working.

I'm migrating a to a new server, and setting up another one, and I never get the option to select what kind of dish receiver to control. I'm baffled and more than a bit frustrating, since the SageTV documentation doesn't seem to match up to what I'm seeing on the screen. It never once asked me to select a receiver.

The option to choose the receiver type is in the Hauppauge IR setup, not the SageTV set up.

Also, it was suggested to me by SageTV support to install the Hauppauge software (including the IR software) prior to installing the SageTV software. So if you are starting from scratch, I would recommend that you install the Hauppauge software prior to installing the Sage software.
