Hauppauge MVP
I have a old V1.0 Hauppauge MVP. I works right away and fine with reg Channels and recordings. But now when I try to whatch a HD/QAM recording or Live ClearQAM the pictures shutters like start stops. Does any one have any experence with this? and know how to fix this? Every thing works ok with my HD-100 and Place shifter. So it is not my server.

That is a know issue with the sage transcoder. I believe 720p hd recordings work, but 1080i don't...
Thanks, Jeff |

The MVP doesn't support the HD file format so the Sage server needs to transcode the video. You are going to need a beefy server because all the transcoding is done on the server. So you may have this issue all along. Either upgrade the server orpurchase a HD200 which natively supports the HD file formats.

That's why I replaced this month my v1.0 Hauppauge MVP with an HD200. I got mostly avi, m2v and wmv files that my HTPC had to transcorde on the fly when watching it through my MVP. Worked 100% to the point it stays limited (certainly no HD) in quality.
The HD200 just plays so many formats directly from the box, my HTPC is getting lazy ![]() I do not yet have a HD TV, so got limited advantage on image quality (but still), and even with that limitation the HD200 is a good replacement for the MVP. Jan EDIT: I also had often issues with the way the server messed up the image (often loosing part of the picture), never got that fully resolved. With the HD200, what can I say ... a dream to work with, straight out of the box.
