Another extender aspect ratio thread
I have read the threads and the FAQ but still don't understand what code I need to add to my HD200s to remove the window boxing that is done to my SD shows. I want to create a custom Zoom (Zoom C maybe) that will stretch my show horizontally like Fill does but also crop the top and bottom bars like Zoom B does.
I am sure this has been addressed, but I can't seem to find a thread with the code I need to add. Please help... |

I have tried everything and can't figure it out either. It was nice in SageMC when I could edit aspect ratios and change the percentage zoom around and see it happening on the screen at the same time. With the extender I can't do that. My best luck is Zoom B which zooms WAY in and I lose the top and bottom.

The custom AR FAQ has some examples that you can add to the properties file to get started.
The best thing to do would probably be to start with an existing AR mode (or one that you added form the FAQ) & change a copy of it -- create a new one & choose to base it on the existing AR mode that you want to modify. You can start with Zoom B & modify how much it zooms into the video. Play around with the settings and restore to original values if you want to start over, or even delete a custom AR mode that you've played with and no longer want. - Andy

Since I finally stumbled my way to a solution on this problem, I want to complete this post for anyone searching in the future.
The FAQ thread has some code that adds two new Aspect choices (in addition to Source, Fill, Zoom A, and Zoom B). Unfortunately its not labeled very clearly. To add a new custom aspect ratio to crop a window box effect from 16:9 in 4:3 video on the HD100 and HD200 add the line of code below to each of the client properties files you want this choice on. The properties files are located at "\SageTV\SageTV\clients\macaddressforyourextender.properties" Code:
advanced_aspect_ratio_extra_modes=Windowbox|source=2048,2048,4096,3072,FrontEdgeToCenter,FrontEdgeToCenter,Relative,Relative,Relative,Relative |

Move the window...
Hi,
Thanx for the Windowbox aspect ratio. I just have one small problem with it that i hope somone can help me with.... When i use the windowbox the 4:3 picture is zoomed and cropped up to 16:9 ok but any subtitles displayed will be cut off. So what I want is to move down the windowbox some pixels from the center of the picture to display the full subtitle. I tried to read the custom AR FAQ but i was a bit lost there....:-) /jonas |

Just curious if you all think this solution might work for an MVP. Having similar aspect ratio problems with the MVP extender; everything it displays "fills" the screen.
Thanks very much, Bill Cole

No, the MVP doesn't support video zooming. This only applies to the HD100 and HD200.
