I'd like to see a form based custom site

entry, I have no interest in xml, many flv based sites follow a more or less regular format for executing flvs, i'd like to be able to enter in a remote driven form page such urls, seems not too hard?

I think he is saying he would like to obtain other web video on the HD200 by enetering the URLs for other video content providers via a structured interface on the HD200. Specifically ref to flash video sites. Not by having to edit the STV or any XML page related to Sage or the HD200.

I hope that is accurate.

Actually, a pretty cool (but maybe not so simple) idea.

Thanks for clarifying my poor articulation.
and while I did specify flash, that was only because it would be easiest to implement, I'd love it for all video sites.

FLASH

Can the processor in the HD200 capable of playing flash? I don't know why SageTV hasn't implemented flash.

Yeah, implement flash video. Then we'll be able to play You Tube and Google videos

YouTube video is flash based isn't it? And the video portion of the flv is MP4 if I understand it correctly.

The processor specs don't mention flash but they do mention MP4, and it will play YouTube, so I tend to believe it will play flv. However, I'll test that out with a flv file and report back It may depend on if the flv file contians protected video or not.

Edit Report: stand alone flv plays but the one I have may be corrupt/malformed and causes a hang of the player at the end of the file. I'll check it out with another file (of course, I'm getting them from YouTube ) but this is a topic for another thread... http://forums.sagetv.com/forums/showthread.php?t=38353

Standalone,
I suggest that you enter a feature request for this directly to SageTV. They may already have read the post but.... It is better to ask them directly. You can submit via the beta bug report and just make sure to mark it as a feature request. No promise that you will get what you request but it is worth the time.

I like the idea.
