Figuring out why it didn't record
I just realized last night that I haven't seen a "The Big Bang Theory" in a while. I figured it was just on Christmas Hiatus, but upon further inspection there are two episodes that never recorded. I checked my favorites, and nothing changed. In favorites, I clicked on "additional airings" and see the two episodes show up, each as a first run, each unwatched; but not recorded. Is there any menu that might tell me why they did not record? I have six tuners, so I can't imagine that anything bumped the priority off the map. It's not scheduled to run any new first runs in the next few weeks, so I can't check if my favorite is going to catch the next one.
Any ideas on why this would have happened? Figures, it has to be one of the only shows not being re-broadcast on Hulu. |

Nope, about 250 G left on the disk. I guess this is probably hard to trouble shoot without logs, was just hoping for some past experience "that happened to me once when I ...." |

I have that happen every now and then with a couple of shows. Friends is one for example, that I have set to record all the time, rerun and first run. The only thing I can think of is that I watched them at some point in my life and that is why they don't record. Clearing the "Watched" status usually starts them recording again.
However, I started recording TMZ and I saw there were 3 first-runs coming up, but they were not on the recording schedule. I had to clear the "watched" for TMZ to get them to start again. Maybe because they all have the same description or something? Scott

On occasion I've seen something similar when the guide was wrong. If the guide showed a generic episode at the time that it was downloaded, then SageTV would think it had already recorded it. Then the guide gets updated and you see an episode that should have recorded but didn't. The only way to minimize the possibility of this happening is to try to get the guide downloading shortly before prime time so that SageTV sees any last minute updates before the decisions have to be made. Unfortunately there's no real way to tell that this happened after the fact. It just looks like SageTV screwed up.
