HD-PVR settings

Is there any way to disable the HD-PVR's Calibration settings? I have a calibrated TV where HD QAM via the HD100/200 is BREATHTAKING...with the HD-PVR it is GOOD but not breathtaking. I am at wits end trying to mess with the color calibration settings of the HD-PVR.

You don't want to disable them, you're recording an analog signal, which means there's no guarantee it's "right", you have to use the calibration settings to make it right.

Thanks, guess I'll hook up the dvd player to it with AVIA calibration disc. Do you know what the max setting are? because they are all set around 128 by default. Just wanna know what I'm working with here.

If you get HDnet, I'd try and record the HDnet test pattern, seems to be broadcast every Saturday morning lately.

I hooked up my dvd player to the component IN on the HD-PVR...guess what? The setting have no effect. I turned the brightness to 0 (from 128) and nothing changed.

Tried it in Arcsofts software also...the settings have NO EFFECT on the HD-PVR's output. Unbelievable.

If anyone has spare time, can you try to change the settings for your HD-PVR and see if anything happens? You can always hit the "revert" button to put them back where they were. This is driving me nuts......
