Stopping recording to disk when not watching

I haven't been able to figure out how to leave Sage TV running where if I go to the main menu I want it to stop recording to disk or put in a suspend state. If I go to main menu or some other screen where video is not being shown the software keeps recording the current channel which keeps the computer running writing to disk.

I end up exiting out of sagetv when done watching tv but then I can't connect using placeshifter from work because sagetv is not running.

Any trick to get SageTV to stop recording the most recent channel or the ability to exit out of SageTV but start up from a service when a remote placeshifter connection is made?

Press stop. That should do the trick. When you press menu or guide or anthing other than stop, SageTV continues recording. To stop recording, you have to press stop. There shouldn't be a need to exit.

I've recently had this happen in the living room, with extender. I'm with the wife and I say "press stop 2x" to stop live from recording and it didn't work. I had to stop then press delete recording on the menu that pops up. I should mention I am using some beta s/w for the new extenders.
