6.5.3 sagetvclient crash with hdpvr

Sagetvclient crashes to desktop when I attempt to tune a HDPVR station. Ideas on an easy fix?

There could be any number of things causing this... Pleaseprovide more information:
Hardware setup
Is this a new install
Was the HD PVR working prior
Does it work if you revert back to 6.5.2 Beta or 6.4.8
What renderer are you using
Vista or XP
Using FSe or not...

you get the idea.

additional info

Client is xp pro dual core intel mobo

yes hdpvr was working fine with 6.4.8
additional tuners are working fine (2xpvr250, and 1ati HDwonder)
HDwonder tunes OTA HD no problem
client is 6.5.3 beta
server is 6.5.3 beta
I have tried all of the different available renderers, though I am confused as to what I 'should' be using

I usually just trial and error them till I get one that is smooth and the video is in sync.

Overlay with FSE disabled.

Have you tried going back to 6.4.8? Did it work?

Did you also update the HD PVR drivers at the same time? (a big no-no in my opinion)

I had a similar problem. I switched the MPEG2 Video Decoder Filter and that seemed to fix it. I was a bit surprised since the recording is supposed to be mpeg 4 (H264).

I would try switching that and the MPEG4 Playback method.

I would say that this version does have some playback problems that 6.4.8 did not have.

yeah, I have tried changing all the mpeg2 and h264 settings, same results. BTW, my HD100 works perfectly with the hd-pvr channels, I haven't tried the SPDIF hookup, gonna play with that tonite.
