Sage 6.4.8 - How to convert mpg to dvd format?

I am running Sage 6.4.8 om my iMac. I have been capturing my favorite shows in mpg format, but want to play them on my tv via a dvd player. Does anyone know how to convert and then burn off a .mpg file with OS/X?

Doesnt Apple have some software for burning a playable dvd? the software should do the conversion.

I am experimenting with linux now, you may be able to do a dual installation of ubuntu linux, or a bood from cd for linux and convert and burn that way...

I haven't done this in quite a while. As I remember, it was quite simple using Toast to drag the episodes and build a DVD with menus etc.

Take a minute and check the manual for your DVD player. Quite a few of them will play .mpg files on a data disk. I know that my Philips Divx enabled one will. Even the older no-name player I had before that would work.
