Question Anyone use US alternate to ZAP2IT?

Been having an issue with incorrect listing on one channel from ZAP. Have contacted both ZAP and SAGE, followed all the FAQ hints etc. and it appears ZAP appears to have no initiative to answer or fix any guide issues and have been totally unresponsive. This makes recording the offending channel impossible! Does anyone have any experience with other US Guide sources, i.e. Schedules Direct, via the XMLTV importer? I'd like to ditch ZAP, but would like some input from other uses before jumping.

I'm pretty sure Schedules Direct get's their data from Zap2It.

Zap2It is definately SageTV's weak link.

Then it's everybody's weak link, since Zap2It/Tribune Media Services is where pretty much everyone gets their guide data from.

What issues are you having with that channel?

I've had a few problems with guide data in the past, and after I contact SageTV, they are usually resolved within a week.

My issue is with an HD channel where ZAP has the HD guide info the same as the non-hd subchannel, they are very different schedules .... TitanTV, Yahoo's Guide and my cable box guides are correct, but ZAP is not. I have contacted SAGE who did forward the info to ZAP and I also emailed ZAP several times. This has been 2 months and no correction. Given only ZAP has the error and their lack of response, I tend to agree with CollinR

Try contacting the station directly. It's up to them to get the right data to Z2I.

I'm troubleshooting the same issue. I was happily running Sage 6.3 with a pair of ConvertX-402Us for SD and a single HDHR for HD. My guide data was all perfectly mapped using the old HDHR manual channel mapping setup. This all went to hell when I upgraded to 6.4 due to the updates to how Sage integrates with the HDHR.

Bottom line - I'm on 6.5.2 and while the HDHR channel setup is easier now I still have two channels (NBC-HD and FOX-HD) that Z2I doesn't break out as seperate from the SD versions of both stations...

I was thinking the same thing over the weekend. I'll carefully craft a note to the station and post back with their response.

FOLLOWUP: Looks like Zap2It did actually correct the guide, to bad it was such a long process, two months. Many Thanks to George at Sage for his help also.
