6.5.1 Problem with Anti-Aliasing & EVR

Hey,

So I was trying Cyberlink for HD and CoreAVC, and in general there was an aliasing problem. So now I went to ATI catalyst and enabled Anti-Aliasing. I go to SageTV, and then watch TV and basically the video freezes and the OSD is gone all weird. So I open Guide and move up and down and left and right, and it moves in a slow motion ghostly way.

I turn off Anti-Aliasing and restart SageTv and its back to normal. Then I turned on Anti-aliasing and this time tried with VMR9 and it worked fine. changed VMR9 to EVR and it happened again.

So it seems EVR and Anti-aliasing is having prob. I have ATI 3850 and latest catalyst 8.11.

So the video freezes completely, but audio continues, and there are interface issues. I've attached an image.

Can anyone else with ATI confirm this problem? Or state that they are not getting this problem?

I have the same problem on my HTPC with EVR enabled. Tried 2 different ATI cards with Catalyst 8.11 and got the same results: x1300Pro and 2400Pro

I used the .vbs script found on this page: ATI HD Registry Tweaks
Download: Download

I'm using an ATI HD3450 AGP with the 8.10 hotfix for AGP. This gives me the best picture with the lowest overhead on all HD recordings from HDHR and HD-PVR. I also made sure I had the Nov. 08 DirectX runtime update. Running Vista Ent w/SP1 on a P4 2.66 Ghz and 1 GB RAM and Cyberlink PowerDVD 8 with EVR.

What is this supposed to mean? That you're not getting the problem and showing your specs or you are getting the problem and showing you specs. Anyways I have PCI-e so those fixes aren't for me

I would say that it means I'm not getting the problem. The specs were to show that I was using a low end system relatively speaking. The reg fixes aren't just for AGP. The hotfix is.

Okay so gplasky you're saying that you have Anti-Aliasing ENABLED? Meaning you DON'T have a check on the "use application settings"? Anyways I installed those registry hacks, and Anti-aliasing still isn't working with sage.
