New Highpoint RAID card as JBOD problem

I installed a new Highpoint RAID card 1720 last night with two new 750GB drives. I used the included software to set up the two drives in a JBOD (just a bunch of disks) configuration where each drive was recognized by windows and given a drive letter (I:\ and J:\). I was able to create RECORDINGS folders on each drive with the intent of setting them up as non-mirrored or stripped drives for recordings (I will archive things to keep elsewhere).

Well, when I set the drives as recording directories all hell broke loose. I could no longer tune anything in and was getting two different errors. One is a -7 (I think - I am at work) and one is a -17 (I think) that had to do with netowrk issues seeing the drives.

I was able to remove the NEW recording directories and everything worked fine. Add them again and no go... Add then as UNC, same symptoms.

I have searched the forums and can't find an answer...

Anyone out there with a suggestion?

Thanks in advance.

JBOD should only show in Windows as a single drive, I would suggest you not do that. Much better to just run it normally and map both drives.

Something isn't right in your JBOD config.
