EPG via DVB card - Problem with ShowID

I am using Sage V6.2 and two DVB-C. I receive the EPG data via the Cable transport stream. All is working great with one problem...

The ShowID seems to be duplicated with many shows, although they are not actually duplicated and as a result, my favourites do not record as they see the duplicate ShowID in an existing recording. I have looked at disabling the watched/detection settings but there does not seem to be any way of ensuring that shows found in your favourites are recorded regardless of watched/ShowID settings and values. I know that you can set a manual recording, but that kinda defeats the usefulness of the favourites idea.

Does anyone know whether Sage gets the ShowID from the provider stream or whether Sage generates its own ShowID after it gets the data from the provider stream? Are there any options for filtering or setting the ShowID before it gets into Sage's database?

So far, the only way I can see around my problem is to get EPG from another source, which seems a pitty when the data is already there in the stream and is reliable.

Any ideas?

Hi cowana,
I just installed a DVB-C card in my Box (coming from analog) but I cannot get SageTV tuning the channels. I adapted the DefaultFreqDVBC (not sure of the exact name as I'm not in front of it now) file with my provider settings.
It works with the provided SW.
Note that I'm using Vista Ultimate...
Any idea?

Thanks

Ferdinand

I am using XP and FireDVB card and it works for me. As you mentioned, I also changed the PredefinedDVBC.frq file and then scanned for channels. Might be a Vista issue or specifically related to the hardware support of the card you are using. I would suggest you try XP and see if you get the channels.
