SageMC and SageTV3.xml

I have an HDHR and somewhere while installing it I read that you have to use the SageTV3.xml file. I'd like to try out SageMC but I worry about the SageTV3.xml.

Am I stuck with SageTV3.xml while using the HDHRs?

You need to use the default STV for configuring the tuners. It isn't removed by adding a custom STV, but you do need to manually load it. This is in a sticky topic at the top of this forum section.

Jgourd,
Here's how it works. You load SageMC from the detailed setup. That installs SageMC "on top" of the standard STV. When using the SageMC UI, you can always get back to the settings such as tuner setup, media folders setup lineup setup etc by going to "detailed settings" from SageMC. When you do this you'll see the detailed settings page exactly like you would within the standard STV. When you're finished with those settings you return to SageMC by hitting the <ESC> key.

Bottom line - you can still access all settings from SageMC.

I did an overview of SageMC that might help explain this better. Check it out at GeekTonic
