I want to migrate to linux but...

Hi everyone,

I'd like to know if the linux version of sagetv 6.4 supports the HDHR?

Is the hauppauge wintv pvr usb2 supported?

Does Nielm's web server run well on linux?

I'm currently running sagetv 6.4.8 as a service on a dedicated windows 2003 server. I use four pvr150 cards and one HDHR.

Is there any documentation and/or tips on migrating from a windows based server to a linux based server?

Thanks.

I'm running SageTV 6.4.8 on Ubuntu 8.04. A deb package is provided on the downloads page which makes SageTV easy to install and update (it also includes an init script to make it easy to start the server). Both the HDHR and nielm's webserver are working fine for me. I also have a PVR-350 and two PVR-250's.

The wintv pvr usb2 is supported, just plug it in. I was running it for a while.

As a note of caution.... As much I love linux, I would caution a move to linux if you are not already very familiar with it, especially for a pvr. While most everything you want to use will "just work" after a linux isntall, if you run into problems, and you are not familiar enough with the OS to troubleshoot, then the whole process may become very frustrating, and will likely taint your perception of linux. It would be like taking a linux guru and asking them to work in windows.... it can very frustrating.
