Request: Placeshifter for Windows Mobile
I'd like to request to the developers that they make a version of Placeshifter for Windows Mobile. HTC is releasing devices with 480x800 screens... so I'd love to be able to stream video to that and control the PVR features remotely.

Because SageTV uses java at its core, there would have to be a robust java experience on the device as well. A suggestion would be to look at using a SlingBox on a PC client or an extender, or something like Orb which already has a client.

I support the request 110%!
It should possible to do, "just" create a player with java or .NET, and use an external video player (SageTV does use MPlayer). Slingbox and Orb is not an option for me. Slingbox is expensive and Orb does not run on all OSes (such as Windows Server versions). |

See this thread for more on this topic.
Also note that this is a user-to-user forum. There's no guarantee that the devs will see feature requests (or bug reports) posted here. Use the Support Request form to submit suggestions directly to the devs.

I would say your best bet is for a good mobile web interface to Sage that includes streaming support. That would be more limited than a full placeshifter client, but it might be good enough.
See this thread for a discussion about a mobile web interface to Sage. |

I've seen both those threads, but they are going nowhere quickly when we're talking about watching Live TV.
But I really must say I like this community and it's ability to create solutions. However, I personally think that SageTV should support this, and I intend to write to them. |

This may provide some hope for placeshifter on windows mobile:
https://phoneme.dev.java.net/downloa....html#advanced According to this page, it appears to contain a Java SE 1.4.2-compatible stack. |
