RESOLVED: FIOS - channel changes
I did a forum and google search and could not find the answer. Maybe I am just not putting the right search terms in.
I am in the Howard / Anne Arundel County Market of FIOS. Today, Verizon significantly realigned all the channels and added to channels. SageTV still shows all the old channel numbers which means the HD PVR is not going to tape the right programs. How I do I force Sage to realize the channels have changed? Do I need to delete the sources and edit the properties file to remove the FIOS listing so that its force to redownload the lineup?

recent FIOS channel changes 9/11
I'm near Philly and I am also seeing the old Verizon FIOS channels in Sage. I can only assume that Sage has not yet updated the new channels. I tried manually forcing an update of the EPG data and it still has the old channels.
Maybe someone out there can provide some insight if I bump the thread... Karl |

I sent an email to sage support notifying them of the change. I also made a PDF file of the new lineup and attached that to the email. You may want to do the same.
Also, I think the data comes from zap2it.com. I sent them an email as well of notifying them of the change to FIOS service. You may want to do that as well. I am not sure if that is the proper process about doing this, but I thought it was the best to start there.

I just wanted to post that it has been updated. Thanks to an E-mail I received from Sage, I noticed that the stations are now up to date. Now I need to go through and start turning off channels that I will never watch oh well, at least I have a lot more HD channels now though!!!

Excellent! It looks like my channels are now up-to-date.
One small problem, though. When I go to schedule a recording, I only see the channel call sign and not the actual number. Any ides? At least the channels are updated. |

not sure, I am not having that problem. You may want to send a support email and see if they have any ideas.

Washington DC has a lineup change which goes into effect tomorrow. My only question for VZ is why they would do this at the start of the prime time season..

My channels just changed today... do I need to send an email to Sage as well or just wait it out and everything will automagically fix itself? I hope it gets fixed before tonight's primetime recordings...

It's really Zap2it that has to catch up, and it takes a couple of days (or at least it has been my experience, and others). I recently had significant channels changed with my FIOS (Philly area), and two days later all the channels were up reflected in the guide correctly. Until then, you might have to do some manual reassignments. Otherwise, wait it out.

Ok, the channels for FIOS in the DC area have been updated, but I get
"No Data" in all of the channels. I guess I will take out my config files and setup from scratch to see if something got dorked up there.

I am only missing data in the HD channels. I custom map those to the HDPVR.

I have all channels through the HDPVR's now with the lineup, and data is working well.
I have a problem with HDHR's and QAM. If I add the HDHR back into SageTV, copy the Verizon Lineup and scan for channels, I see the locals, 6 channels, and it marks their names properly, but when I tune to the channels, only 4 of the 6 channels tune properly. The other 2 are repeats of the working 4. For example I can tune WRCDT (NBC) just fine, but when I tune WUSADT (CBS), it tunes NBC again. I dug into my frequency file in the SageTV directory and can see that it lists the same frequency for those two channels. Does anybody have a working version of this file, for me to put into SageTV? See mine below. fromt the .frq file CH:1 major:50 minor:1 prog:1011 phy:74 frq:523250000 mod:0 inv:0 #:WDCWDT CH:2 major:7 minor:1 prog:1009 phy:73 frq:517250000 mod:0 inv:0 #:WJLADT CH:3 major:5 minor:1 prog:1006 phy:72 frq:511250000 mod:0 inv:0 #:WTTGDT CH:4 major:20 minor:1 prog:1019 phy:72 frq:511250000 mod:0 inv:0 #:WDCADT CH:5 major:4 minor:1 prog:1004 phy:71 frq:505250000 mod:0 inv:0 #:WRCDT CH:6 major:9 minor:1 prog:1013 phy:71 frq:505250000 mod:0 inv:0 #:WUSADT

Sorry I don't use a HDHR. I think I have seen user mattdcknsn say he's on FiOS, uses an HDHR and he's in the Washington Metro area
