HDHR channel problem

I borrowed a friends HDHR to see if I get enough Unencrypted channels to make it worth buying. I set it up using the instructions HERE.
Sage scans and finds all 7 enabled channels but will not change the tuner when I try to open a channel.
I have it setup using CableTV and created a new lineup.
If I go into the HDHR Channel Editor and "VIEW" a channel they all work fine. However Sage will "ONLY" successfully open the "LAST" channel I viewed in the HDHR Channel Editor program.
I have tried all 7 channels one at a time by opening them first in HDHR and then in Sage and they all open successfully that way. But I get "No Signal" when trying to open a channel before viewing it in HDHR program first.
What gives here?

One other problem I'm having is that only one tuner works. The other shows no signal.
Under Status it states that Channel = "auto: 249Mhz all"
the working one states channel = "qam256:621Mhz 3"

Could this be a configuration issue? I tried changing cables and ports from the cable splitter and I get the same results.

I just had to re-do my HDHR/Sage setup because Brighthouse - Redford, MI added some channels and swapped some around. I reset all the defaults for the channel (I remap logical to put them at the end of the Guide) and then disabled them. I shut down Sage UI and Service. I scanned Digital Cable - SageTV with the HDHR Editor. Enabled all I wanted (even changed the Guide number in the editor this time...worked fine) and hit apply. Started Sage and scanned my Brighthouse digital lineup...Sage found all 8 channels immediately and they had my remapped logical numbers. Made sure all had green dots. I don't check for signals in the channel setup screen...it's always been weird...I use the guide. Everything worked fine. Was your Sage/Service shut down? Maybe re-install the BDA drivers?

Be sure to follow the HDHR setup instructions linked to in this sticky:
Tuner Configuration Tips & Instructions.

Most HDHR setup issues result from not following those instructions exactly. Someone else had a tuning issue if they didn't add channel numbers in the HDHR channel editor, so be sure to do that.

If you want to clear the mapped channels to start all over, there is a link to that in the sticky too.

OK, I reinstalled everything and shutdown Sage while I did. The channels all show up in Sage now. But the Data still says "No Data".
What do I use for EPG LineUp? I currently copied my Cable Box digital lineup and only have the channels that the HDHR has enabled but still no EPG data shows up for them?

This is a screenshot of my channel lineup:

Previous issue with EPG data fixed but how come some of the programs on the HD channels are not being displayed as HD?
Do the HD channels sometimes broadcast SD material?
Also, does anybody have any idea why only one of my tuners are working? Not the coax cable or the the splitter...?

If those channels hadn't been enabled on any lineup previously, it takes a while to download all the EPG data.

An "HD" channel doesn't mean that everything is HD, nor does it mean that the EPG provider will tag all HD shows even if it is all HD. So, if you are talking abou thte little "HD" marker in SageTV: that simply depends on the show's data saying it is in HD.

Did you perform a scan in the HDHR channel editor and in SageTV for the tuner that isn't working? If not, it won't work unless you know how to copy the scn/frq files from the first HDHR tuner.

I not even getting a signal above 24% in the HDHR Manager.
But it is not the cable because I changed it with the cable being used by the good tuner and I get the same issue. I also tried using the same output on the splitter that works for the good tuner.
Do I have a bad unit?
Also, if it doesn't state HD then how does the HDHR record it? Doesn't this device just copy the digital streams?

Have you check the HDHR's power supply? The sticky I posted above has links to the power supply info.

No Red light and it is not listed as a known bad PS.

I'm going to try to replace the splitter with an amplifier and new cables Tommorow and see if that helps any...
But I think it's just a bad unit.

If you are having problems using the HDHR outside of SageTV, you should contact SiliconDust.

Feel a little stupid on this one.
It was the cable. Seems like it was loose and worked sometimes and I just got unlucky when testing it out.
Both tuners now working great. I wish I got more then 7 channels though.
Thanx for all the help Andy.
