FF/REW freeze

I am a new Sage user (6 weeks now) and experienced something last night for the first time. While watching a prerecorded show, I generally fast-forward through all the commercials (I press the remote key that results in Sage skipping forward 10 seconds at a time). During one set of fast-forwarding the commercials, Sage froze completely and required a hard reboot.

When Sage was restarted, I tried viewing that show again - the show plays fine but I cannot fast-forward through it at all - skipping forward 10 seconds results in it skipping backwards and skipping forward (the longer one) results in playback stopping. At that point, the only thing I can do is press the stop button and try to replay it.

First question, any ideas as to why the first crash happened? (the one that required the hard reboot)

Second, what is wrong with the file now? Is there anyway to fix it? Is there another application I should try to play it?
