Stopping VMC from running with MCE remote
Occasionally when using my remote VMC seems to start up, even when I don't press the green button. It definitely startsd up when I press the green button, even thoug I have installed LMRemote and set Button action to "None" when the green button is pressed. Do I have to reboot or anything for LMRemote to take effect?

Hmm. Not sure if this helps your situation or not, but you might try Babgvant's SageTray app.

Thanks Stéphane - I will try that. One further question - do you know if it is possible to have Sage Client and Media Center coexisting on a PC? I would like to run MCE 2005 in parallel with SageClient on my main Home Theater PC while I am transitioning to Sage. This PC has the Media Center remote installed but the actual remote that I use is a Harmony remote so that when the remote is in "Sage activity mode" I will not have any buttons mapped to the Green Button so I won't have to deal with that issue.
The way I would see this working is that when I press the Sage Activity button the SageClient would start and/or the focus would go to Sage. Then I assume all of the transport buttons would work to control Sage along with the arrow buttons, etc. Then if you wanted to use MCE you would press the MCE activity button and the focus would go to MCE and all of the buttons would work with MCE. Would it be a problem if SageClient was still running in the background? And, conversely, would it be a problem if MCE was running in the background while Sage had the focus? |

On the MCE remote customize three buttons: * the "Power" button should be the button for closing application (use the default action LM RKM assign to this button) * the "Windows Green" button should launch WMC * the "Red" button (if you have it) should launch SageTV (if you don't have the "Red" button, use the "Menu DVD" button). The on the Harmony setup, you can declare a device "SageTV" and a device "Media Center" and both of them will have a dedicated On and Off button on the MCE remote. It will work great for setting up activities (this is the way I do). Another way of doing it is by thinking softwares on the PC as Inputs on the TV but it it much more tricky to do it. Regards, Stéphane. |
