.m3u playlist issues resolved?

A while back, I was trying to import .m3u playlists into Sage, and was having lots of problems (basically, Sage just wouldn't import most of the playlists). Some of it turned out to be problems with international characters, but mostly it appeared to be essentially random.

I (and especially my wife) like to use iTunes to create playlists. I would really like to be able to export these lists as .m3u or .xml lists and have Sage use them for playback, since it has such a nice interface using a remote control.

I have a fair amount of searching, and found quite a few others have had similar issues. None of the threads discussing this issue have ever discussed finding a solution.

I haven't been following these forums closely lately, but I don't see anything in the release notes for 6.4 that discusses this issue.

Has anything been resolved regarding this issue? Has anyone ever got a response from Sage about this?

I reported a bug problem in beta version 6.4.7 which dealt with UTF-16 characters and music file names. Music that was named with UTF-16 characters was being skipped or kept throwing Playback exception error when it got to it. This was solved with the release candidate 6.4.8, which is now SageTV 6.4.
