Dual STB setup
Hi folks.
I've been running SageMC for about 3 months now and the wife is calling me daily with aggrevating issues. The biggest issue is that when changing to the channels on the stb we either have to fiddle doing channel +/- to get to the channel we want or get snow. I figured if I got a second STB I could put a stb on each tuner and that would help settle the issue. The question I have is controlling each one accordingly. I have 2 Scientific Atlanta Explorer 3000. There is a serial port on the back. Can this be used? If so, anyone have suggestions? another thought was getting another USB-IRT and Girder. Any thoughts would be welcome as my wife is pushing to go back to TiVo... arrrrgg!!! I love my library of video and DON'T want to go back. Thanks a mil! |

Serial port tuning doesn't work on SA boxes that I know of. What you need is a USB-UIRT or firewire tuning.
