DishNetwork Dual Tuner STB

Hello all, i am signing up for Dishnetwork service and noticed they offer a dual tuner STB...yes, 2 tuners in one box. I was not aware they had such a thing. The way it works is that it has 2 remotes using seperate RF. So, you have one box in one room and then one remote controls that, while the other remote is on a seperate frequency that can control the second tuner from a different room (no second box needed). The only problem i foresee with this setup is that the blaster would need to be RF, not IR ( I think). Since the dish remotes are RF, i would assume the recievers are too. So, is anyone using this? And, is there an RF blaster that sage can control to change these channells--would i need 2 or can one send different frequencies. This may not even be possible.
thanks
JUC

I took a look at this, and I would recommend looking at two 301s, or two 111s. The problem with the 322 is that there isn't any way for Sage to control the TV2 output. You could use Sage to control the TV1 output, as it uses an IR remote, but the TV2 output only uses RF, and AFAIK there isn't any RF control for something like that.

Plus, you can only lease that reciever. Why lease something like that when the 111s are $89 a piece?

Just my $.02

Crashless, thanks for the reply. It seems like it would be neat if we could get it to work--at least it would reduce one of the STB. I called up dish last night and they gave me the runaround. Apparently, the second remote uses both IR and RF, but the IR is only if you want to control other devices such as tv's/receivers...Looks like its the basic box for me then.

Dishnetwork 322 shouldn't be a problem if you have USB-UIRT
Far I know of Dishnetwork Remote support both IR and RF

The bad news is output configured
TV1 Connections
• 1 set RCA-type audio/video outputs
• 1 S/Video output
• 1 RF modulated output (channel 3/4)
• 1 TV antenna/cable input

TV2 Connections
• 1 set RCA-type audio/video outputs
• 1 agile modulated output (channels 21-69; 73-125); mono audio

Unfortunately, it is not possible to use both tuners of the 322, as the TV2 is only controllable via RF (No IR option). The previous poster that recommended two 301s probably has the right idea. I currently use a 322, but I only use TV1 output with Sage. The other output goes to a regular TV.
