Upgrading Server and Extender: Basic questions

I currently have 6.4.4 installed. I have most everything working, including my HDHR . I wanted to know if I update to the RC1 version, will I need to redo my whole HDHR setup to the new way of getting it to work? Or will it still function the way I have it setup?

Also my only issue is still the HD extender locking up peridocally while using the 30 second skip, can i update my firmware on the extender to the newest beta and keep my server at 6.4.4, or do i have to install the RC1 to use the latest HD extender beta firmware?

thanks in advance!!!

What version of the HDHR software are you using?

Provided it was set up correctly before, it is supposed to still work now. As usual, I would make backup copies of everything.

I would upgrade them together, though I'm not sure it is required.

Like I said, it is supposed to still work as long as you followed the old HDHR directions instead of the new ones, including choosing Antenna in SageTV instead of Cable if you are using QAM.

Andy,

I tried it last night, and upgrading from 6.4.4 to the RC1 did mess up my HDHR settings, I got no signal on all of them and in the setup I couldn't even view them.

I went back to 6.4.4 for the time being. its no big deal really, I will just wait until this weekend when i can properly install and configure the HDHR and RC1 .

By the way, is it true the HDHR locking up issue has been resolved?

I'm curious: was this for QAM? If so, when you configured the tuner in SageTV previously, did you choose Antenna or Cable?

I don't know anything about an HDHR lockup issue, so I guess I can't comment on that one.

It was for QAM and i did choose Cable for the HDHR setup

As for the lockup, i meant the HD extender not the HDHR, my mistake. The issue where while using the skip forward, the HD extender can lock up. Has that been resolved?

I thought you might be... for the old HDHR drivers/setup, you were supposed to be choosing Antenna in SageTV, which is part of the old QAM instructions. The new instructions for the new HDHR software say to use Cable in SageTV for QAM.

I don't have that issue either. All I can suggest is to update the HD100's firmware & try it.
