Why does HD100 use SageMC when server uses default UI?

hi -

i was having problems with my sage setup periodically hanging, so i tried to reinstall using the latest beta version of the server software. per the suggestion from another thread, i deleted everything from the sage.properties file except for the lines related to the epg (in a somewhat futile attempt not to have to deal with configuring and remapping on my hvr-1600).

anyhoo, i now seem to have it working fine but there's one weird quirk that i don't understand. on my server computer, the ui is the default sage ui. but on my hd100 units, the ui is the sagemc one. why would that be the case?

by the way, my previous installation had the sagemc ui (actually including the centersage theme). but in an effort to get a stable system working, i was planning to stick with the default sage ui for a while. once everything seems stable for a week or two, i thought i might try to add back the sagemc ui.

Extenders save their own property settings to <mac address>.properties in the 'clients' subfolder, so they can have individual configurations.

They only way they use a property from sage.properties is when their own properties file doesn't have that property already set.

i just have to say, "wow!", andy. that's an amazingly quick response that answers my question. and you've responded to a few others of mine as well, so a sincere thanks goes out to you. this stuff isn't intuitive but i really appreciate the time and help from you and others on this forum.
