SageTV Client for Linux??

I am doing some research with trying to use a PS3 as a SageTV client extender. I was planning on running Linux on it and then run SageTV client. I already have my main server running on my Vista 64 system. I basically want to use the PS3 as a Blu-Ray player and gaming system and then switch it over to the linux OS when using the other SageTV features. So basically is there SageTV client for Linux??? or any other options? Thanks in advance.

May have found part of the answer for my question http://forums.sagetv.com/forums/show...077#post134077. But it states that it is instructions for pre v5. Do the instructions still apply to v6??

And for those that are using linux as clients, do they run okay?

Yes.... SageTV 6.x also has the placeshifter for linux. There isn't a client for linux, but the placeshifter works well in my case. I can't speak for running it on the ps3... I'd be curious to see how it performs. I know a couple of people that have put linux on their ps3 but complained about how slow it was to use.

I would think it would run unless there is an emulation layer for the libraries, etc.

Somewhat related, Toshiba just released specs on new laptops based on the cell chips too.

Are you able to change the same properties in the v6 placeshifter for Linux like in v5 to make it function as a client??
