Encoder Merit not working...
I just got my HD-PVR and actually got it set up and running (sorry for those that have not been able to make it work).
I have noticed that my merit settings don't seem to be working. I have the following set up. HD-Homerun OTA - 100 HD-Homerun OTA - 100 ATSC-110 OTA - 50 R5000 VIP211 - 25 HD-PVR VIP211 - 24 Nvidia Dual -VIP211 - 10 Nvidia Dual -VIP211 - 10 I think this should give priority to the HD Homerun tuners for OTA and to the R5000 then the HD PVR for Dish... From Webserver, Right now there is one show recording on the ATSC110 and the loan upcoming recording listed is letterman - scheduled on one of the Nvidia encoders on the SD station of all things, WTF??? The merit settings are probably working, but there is more to consider when creating the schedule than just the merits -- see this post.
P.S. Your SageMC question has been moved to your same question in the SageMC forum. - Andy

Don't mean to sound noobish but you did completely shut down and restart Sage, right? I forgot to do that when I made some tuner merit changes and got all mad before trying a "reboot", and that fixed it....

Yes I can't count the number of times I've done this myself. Always have to smack myself in the head every time.

Thanks for the suggestions, however I had shut down the service prior to updating the merit settings.
Last night I removed the lower merit encoders from Sage and readded them. This seemed to fix the most immediate recordings, but it's back to it... No current recordings and the next recordings are scheduled on the two LOWEST merit encoders... Please confirm - the HIGHER merit numbered encoder will be used first, right? |

I am having the same issue. I setup higher merit numbers for my HD card. When I first set it up, things looked like they were working based on the schedule. Now that I am looking at the recordings I see they were not recorded on the HD source. There were no conflicts on that card at any of the times now or in the future schedule. Shows that should be recording on the HD souce are still being scheduled on the SD source.
From Opus4's link, it appears mine might be due to the fact that I have a seperate channel lineup for my HD source. I have the digital lineup on the HD tuner versus the standard lneup on the SD tunres. One would think that it would choose the HD version of the same show no matter what channel it was on though.
