Transferring License Keys
I should be getting my extender tomorrow, but I did not get the Media Center license combo with it. I wanted to run the trial version of sage on my laptop and fool with it before i get my server all set for my HD-PVR. However, my trial has expired.
The thing is, my laptop has Vista, but the server I am getting is going to have WHS on it. So I have 2 questions: 1) Can I just unregister Sage on my laptop, and then register it back to the Server using the same key if I decide to buy the License. Which leads me to my next question: 2) I noticed that there is no software for WHS specifically. Do I just purchase the Windows 6.3, and it has the files necessary to work with WHS. That way, when I do transfer the license, there won't be any issue going from Vista to WHS? Thank you! |

The WHS version and 'normal' Sage for Windows use the same keys - just install the WHS version if you are using WHS. I've never 'unregistered' before, but I've moved from a normal Sage to WHS with no troubles.

BTW: the download page lists the version for WHS & the beta topic also has a separate WHS version.

Ok, thanks. But does that mean I can install it on my laptop and fool with my extender before I get my Server and transfer it over to the server afterwards? In the trial, there was an unregister .exe they gave. If I do that, can I use my key to install to a different machine? I take it by your above post that I can install either the WHS version or the Windows version with the same key.
Thanks again |

You will be able to uninstall it from one PC and then install it on a different one.
