Which client license is in use?
I have recently changed my SageTV configuration a bit, and am in need of some help with my licenses. The licenses I have purchased so far are:
1 SageTV Server license 2 SageTV Client licenses The server license is in use on the new server. One of the client licenses was transferred to an extender license using the faxed-in affidavit (from way-back-when). The other client license has been in use on my gaming machine. I would like to transfer the license from the gaming machine to an HTPC client. The problem is: I do not know which client license I switched to the extender, and which is still a true client license. Is there a way to see which license the current client thinks it is using? I don't want to just take a guess, because in signing the affidavit I was agreeing never to use that license again. Anyone know of a way to check the license?

You can't retrieve a license from the PC after it has been registered. If you don't have a copy of the fax you sent in, then try contacting SageTV to see what their records show.
Hmmm... maybe you could register the client on the new machine. If it can't connect at the same time as the current client, then you probably have the correct license. Just restart teh server & stop using the client on the old PC. If it connects while the other client is connected, then you know that is the one you shouldn't be using & then you can use the REGISTER command line parameter to register the correct license & rip up/erase your records of the traded-in license. - Andy

Great idea. I'll give that a try. Since my records are all in email form, I'll probably just delete the email with the bad license.
