Removing a favorite deleted my recodings

If I don't want to record future airings and decide to remove the favorite, I would think that I should have been given a warning that previous recording were going to be removed.

Is there a way to prevent this from happening, or do I need to keep the favorites forever?

What version of SageTV are you using?

It might have been because Intelligent Recording was disabled & Detailed Setup -> Customize -> "Delete Live TV files when not using Intelligent Recording" was enabled.

After you remove the Favorite, those recordings would simply look like live TV. You could also Archive the recordings to prevent them from being deleted.

I am currently using 6.3.5 and yes I do have those settings as you stated.

I would expect Sage to either convert the existing Favorite Recordings to Manual Recordings or at a minimum pop-up a warning that the existing Favorites may be deleted when you remove the Favorite. If it does not do one of these two things, I would file a bug report.

Actually, let's back up a bit: I just remembered that the files shouldn't get deleted & confirmed that. Are the files actually gone from the disk, or is there simply a filter on the recordings view so it only displays Manual Recordings and/or Favorites?

I tried it again just now. I removed 48 Hours, which had 4 recordings. Once I removed the favorite, the shows immediately disappeared from the list of recordings. I checked the Hard disk and saw that the files are still there.

My version of Sage is 6.3.10.166

My next question, is how to get these shows(if I want to keep them back into the recording list). I am assuming that they are now part of "recoverable" space.

Sounds like you might have your Recordings filter set to show only favorites.
