deleted show, why?

Hey everyone -

So my wife was recording Sex and the City, and it recorded, but then deleted. I happened to be running debug logging, so I got the logs. Can anyone tell my why Sage deleted this? It was not marked as watched, set as a series recording. Showed up in Sage for a few minutes after the recording had ended, but then disappeared. Logs attached at bottom, look for "SexandtheCity-AnAmericanGirlinParisPartDeux".

Thanks

-Justin

It is a Favorite, not live TV?

There were 2 file parts for the recording... are you sure the whole thing got recorded? Maybe it as corrupt or imcomplete, so it was removed. What recording rate was being used... I don't know if the file length for the 2nd file part is anywhere near what it should be for the full show.

Yes, I think it was being recorded as a favorite at the same time my wife was watching the one that had recorded just prior (same channel, but she was about 40 minutes behind). I don't know if the whole thing recorded or not, but it should have as there are two tuners in the server and only one thing was being watched at the time...

Thanks for the help Andy.

You didn't mention the recording rate in use... was 750,854,080 bytes anywhere near the expected size for the recording? If not, it probably wasn't complete. Since you were watching the channel live, it most likely recorded on the same tuner as the previous show. For live viewing, the 2 files that were part of the recording could indicate channel surfing, instead of a corrupted recording. BTW: you can go back in the Program Guide to see if it is marked as a fav (outlined in white); if not, then it was removed as live tv.

oh yeah, the quality was set to standard dvd, so you're right - it was nowhere near the right size. I double checked, and it was set as a favorite. Maybe the wife was doing something funny while she was watching... Thanks again for the help!

I had a problem similar to this last night.

I had a favorite that was recording and I needed to reboot the machine during the recording. After reboot, the recording resumed. Afterwards, the recording was deleted by sage.

I know that at some point in time previously, the recording would not be deleted and I could watch the parts of the recording that DID get recorded. How to I get that functionality back?

I heard some mention of the "Delete LiveTV Files when not using Intelligent Recording". Does this apply to all partial recordings as well?
