Linux (Ubuntu 7.10) - Placeshifter font too long
Team,
Got my old HTPC server running Ubuntu 7.10 with Placeshifter 6.3. All menu and lables are chopped off as if the font was too long. I did change the system font and size with no affect to the Placeshifter app. I also adjusted the MAX font size in the Placeshifter setup to a very small number stopped / started app with no effect... Is the font type and size hard coded for the linux placeshifter? Any thoughts? Thanks - LT |

This has been covered before. I think there is a MS font hard coded in the app and you should install the MS font pack.

Solved: the font pack it is looking for is msttcorefonts. Two ways to get this back
1) Install Ubuntu restricted extras. go to add remove and search for "extra fonts", make sure all is selected and "all available applications" 2) The other way is to either find the msttcorefonts *.deb file or if you have another Ubuntu OS. Check and see if there is a /usr/share/fonts/msttcorefonts directory. Copy that dir to your pc and in the same exact location and issue this command. $fc-cache -fv I simply just used the add remove option I still don't know why it was removed in the first place, but i am sure something i did some house cleaning and it got removed..... Anyway i am back to normal now I hope this helps other with the same problem. |
