Watching SageTV from portable Hard drive

I will be going on a trip where I won't have highspeed internet. Is it possible to copy shows from my home server to a WD passport drive and then watch them on my laptop? How is this done? I have placeshifter do I need something else?

Thanks for the help

sounds like you can't use sage to do this, but you can certainly copy the video files off you server and onto another hard drive. Sage will need to be told which ones you actually watched while away.

Windows media player, and probably many other players, can play the video files from your HD.

I agree with above, just copy them and play them using Windows Media Player, and then when you get back mark them as watched / delete them using the Webserver or the interface.
