I just installed the HVR-1800-MC kit and seems to work fine. I'm just trying to figure out how to make the MCE remote and IR Blaster work with it....

OOC - Is the remote the Hauppauge 45 button? The MC kit I bought for the 1600 was.

MCE remote with SageTV - change STB channel?

The MCE remote that came with my HVR-1800 works the menus and stuff but when I select a channel in the guide, it does not change the set-top box.

What am I doing wrong?

If it is an actual MCE remote/blaster pair: While SageTV can use an MCE remote directly, it cannot directly control the MCE blaster. For solutions to handle that blaster, see some of the sticky topics at the top of this hardware forum.

If it is a Hauppauge remote/blaster: configure the blaster using Hauppauge's blaster config software & make sure the Hauppauge software stays running, then configure the tuner in SageTV & select the Hauppauge blaster when appropriate.

ok, the remote has 43 buttons including the power button.

It's the one that came with thje HVR-1800 MC-Kit.

It says RC6 at the back of the remote and has that Vista logo button in the middle.

where s this SageTV3.XML file? And how do you load it and where? Is there more detailed instructions?

In my SageTV, when doing the setup, I do see MCE remote and it works, it's just not changing the channel when i select a channel in the guide even though the ir emmiter is on the set-top box.
