Music Feature Enhancements

Call me old-school a la 1980's Sony Walkman, but:

>> is fast forward
<< is rewind
>| is next track
|< is previous track
[] is stop

^ that is intuitive. I go to SageTV's music section and can't for the life of me figure out how in the 100 available options I can play some music via my remote control.

Hey.. the Sony Walkman didn't have tracks.. :-) And While I'd agree it isn't intuitive, it IS something that could be changed with some studio tricks.. though I haven't found it that inconvenient or worthy of the time.

BTW, SageMC does exactly this. One of the reasons why I'd still prefer it...

Anybody know if multiple genre entries is possible in tags ? At least the ; separator does not look to work (beta 7.0.10). Just checking before I file a bug/feature request.

From my own testing on MP3's, it doesn't look like it works. I find this mildly annoying because I actually went through the effort to use multiple genres seperated by ; and all I ended up with were new genres like "soundtrack;pop". FLAC files seemed to work better, but SageTV was only using first genre tag and none of the other ones. My mileage wasn't any better using /. I had read in the forums this works, but I've personally never seen it work.

Thanks for info. I'll file a bug/feature request. Anybody else interested, do the same. More requests == higher probability of implementation.

That was fast. Got a reply from SageTV. The next beta (7.0.12) should probably have the following feature: "support up to 2 genres per file using either ';' or '/' ". No guarantees, I'll test it when 7.0.12 gets available and report back.

PS: Yes, I have asked if there might be more than 2 supported in future Report back if I get a reply. Either way, a nice improvement

+10 Sage is in beta for version 7 - how 'bout we implement this in seven? Please?

I'm not sure what Ortus, etc. will bring but I just wanted to mention that the v7 JRMC plugin supports all of this (except for a better playlist editor which could be added later) and in addition it supports these features for photos and videos. It also adds music volume leveling for playback on the HD100/200 and supports the free, music only Media Jukebox application.
