No audio renderers when run as a different user?
Okay, in blatant disregard for the scientific method, I made several changes on my Sage client (server is a separate machine) simultaneously and now I've got a problem (surprise!)...
I was previously using 6.3.5 on this machine, and it was logged in as myself - a user with admin privileges, both on the local machine and my NT domain. Worked fine for months. Then I installed 6.3.9, and because I had experienced a loss of some files on the server *possibly* attributable to Sage, I set the client to login as a different (domain) user. The user is a member of the local "power users" group, and has read-only rights to the shares on the server. Note: at the time that I installed the client, it was logged in as me (the admin user). Now here's the fun part. When the machine is logged-in as me, it works fine. When I logged out and loged in as the restricted user, everything seemed fine until I tried to play a video - got the "unable to render the audio portion..." error. Tried this on several videos, same result. So I go into setup (still logged-in as same user), go to audio settings, and there are *no audio renderers shown in the list*! Okay I lied, there was one, "Cyberlink audio renderer". But none of the "real" ones. Went into device manager and everything appears fine. I logged out and logged back in as myself, went to settings and everything looked fine, there are about 7 renderers listed (the machine has a "sound card" built into the video card so there are more than on most PCs). Any idea what's going on here? Should I try logging in as the restricted user and reinstall the Sage client? Edit... a little additional info. I have two Sage clients. Only one is having this problem (both are logging in as same user)! There are a few differences between them: the working one is running XP MCE the non-working one is running XP pro. Another difference is the working one is using a full installation of Sage in client mode whereas the non-working one is using Sage client.
