Audio Issues with Hauppauge 350 Card (New User)

Basic problem: When the 350 audio out goes to our home stereo it works fine on TV & recordings, but no audio when playing music stored on the computer.

Fixes tried:
1. Used the PCs sound card audio out to the stereo. This worked fine for the music stored on the hard drive, but when playing Live or recorded TV there is an audible delay in the sound relative to the video.

2. As others on the forum have done I have taken the 350 audio out and wired it to the PC soundcard line in and taken the Line Out to the stereo. Again this is fine for music, but with Live & recorded TV I hear both the in sync audio and the delayed audio. I can Mute WAV in the Control Panels Volume control, but then when playing music there is no audio. Would be a nuisance to have to check & uncheck this when switching.

The delay from the soundcard out seems odd. The system is a P4 with 1.5 GB of RAM. I am using Sage TV ver 6.3. Also, if I can get this phase of the installation working (rec room PC & TV) I plan to later get an HD Media Extender for our upstairs Living Room TV & stereo. I'm now nervous about these same issues perhaps being compunded.

Would sure appreciate any help offered. I really like Sage TV.
